Demo version 0.4 is out now! Finally! XD

Hello everyone! 

It has been a very long journey, but it's finally here, Warrior's Quest VX demo version 0.4 is now ready to be played. For those who've played the demo version 0.2, you'll find this version to be a bit (or much more) different. The demo is now live on my itch.io page : dreamwhizz.itch.io

The final stretch to Demo v0.4 (August 2021)

Hi guys, sorry for a bit of delay in the update. I hope all of you are well in this pandemic. :-)

So here's the progress for Demo v0.4 so far:

Scenes - Completed! 
Sprites - Completed! 
CGs - Completed! 
Portraits - Completed! 
Festivals - Completed!
Dialogues - Completed!
Scene Replay - 30%
Eventing - 100% (but need to go through again, just in case...)

New and improved Quest Board interface

I hope this will be the last update before the demo release. I am targeting for the demo to be out by the end of next month, so here's hoping I'll make it! XD

There's a lot more scenes to be unlocked

Demo v0.4 Progress So Far (July 2021)

Hello everyone! Still working on the demo if anyone's wondering. So here's what I got so far: 

Scenes - Completed! 

Sprites - Completed! 

CGs - Completed! 

Portraits - 90% 

Festivals - 75% 

Dialogues - 80% 

Scene Replay - 0% 

Working on the dialogue part really took up a lot of my time, but I think it's coming along great. I also improved the part when you interact with the village girls by adding a few features. Last time there was a request to add in this feature, so here you go. Took me long enough, huh?

Yeah, why in the world are you giving her weeds?

And also I tried improving the farming part of the game. Improving it from the 0.2 demo was like working on it from scratch, everything was a mess. Now I think it works well, but I won't know for sure if there'll be any bugs until the beta testing stage...

Just like Harvest Moon games, different crops for different seasons.

So now I'm working on finishing up the festivals, and I really hope the mini games are interesting enough for you guys. Need to come up with a few more mini games that can be done in RPG Maker (this is the hard part).

I'm not gonna go into any detail on why only the mens are in their swimwear...

Demo v0.4 update (May 2021)

Heyyo, how are you guys? I just wanted to share a small update on the Demo v0.4! :-D

Here's a breakdown on the progress so far:

1. Scenes - Completed!
2. Sprites - Completed!
3. CGs - Completed!
4. Portraits - 10%
5. Festivals - 50%
6. Dialogues - 20%
7. Scene Replay - 0%

I am currently working on refining the dialogues for the villagers, and it is no easy task. For some reason I thought of adding more backstories in their everyday chatters was a good idea, now the progress has slowed down while I think of a good story to tell... :'-(

But I guess I'll take my time, since I want the game to be interesting all the way, not just in little portions. I hope you guys will bear with me for a while, and I hope it'll all be worth it in the end. :-)

Playing Older RPG Maker Games on Android?!

Hello hello. Sorry this is not an update of my game, but I think it's quite interesting to share with you guys.

I just found out there's a great emulator to play RPG Maker games on your android (sorry iOS users) called JoiPlay. I'll give you a step-by-step on how to do this for my Warrior's Quest Demo v0.2.

1. First you have to install the JoiPlay app and the JoiPlay RPG Maker Plugin on your device.

2. Then download the game you desire (in this case it's Warrior's Quest Demo v0.2), extract it to your device.

3. After that, you launch the app, touch the + button on the bottom right corner, and enter the game name and version (you can input anything, it doesn't matter).

4. Then, for the Executable File, touch CHOOSE, look for the game folder in your device and select the Game.exe. You can just leave the Icon empty and touch the ADD button.

5. After that, voila! Just launch the game and play! 

 

6. In the setting, you might want to change the opacity of the buttons and also re-configure the buttons. I changed the Sixth Button to SHIFT_LEFT so I can sprint.

7. So far I've only encountered this one error when I tried to exit the game. But if you saved your game, then there shouldn't be any problem.

Just wanted to update, I managed to finish all the sprites required for the version 0.4 demo! Hooray for me!
